Here are a few photos from our recent sightseeing excursion in DC. My mom had wanted to go by the FDR Memorial, so we were off. This is one of the relatively new memorials in DC, so it was good to have something other than the standard Jefferson, Lincoln, etc, to drive by. The memorial was all outside and was divided into sections by each of FDR's four terms. It has become one of my new favorites, and I've begun to get more interested in reading more about FDR and his presidency. The first photo is of the statue at the beginning of the memorial with FDR in his wheelchair. The second photo is of one of my new favorite quotes. The next photo coincides with it, as it is statues of men waiting in a breadline during the Depression. The fourth photo is of a quote that I thought was very powerful and poignant considering the times we are in now. And the last photo is one of FDR' s most famous. Here are his "Four Freedoms." So as you can see, I had a pretty enjoyable day finding a new favorite place in one of my favorite cities!
