The Oscar Predictions

I thought it would be fun to predict the winners for tomorrow night's Academy Awards on TV. I haven't seen many of the films nominated, but have seen Hotel Rwanda and hope it wins some awards.

Here are my predictions (in italics) ...

Best Actor

• Don Cheadle

• Leonardo DiCaprio
• Clint Eastwood
• Jamie Foxx

Best Actress

• Annette Bening
• Catalina Sandino Moreno
• Imelda Staunton
• Hilary Swank
• Kate Winslet

Best Supporting Actor

• Alan Alda
• Thomas Haden Church
• Jamie Foxx
• Morgan Freeman
• Clive Owen

Best Supporting Actress

• Cate Blanchett
• Laura Linney
• Virginia Madsen
• Sophie Okonedo
• Natalie Portman

I think Best Picture will be the close one. I think it's down to three. The Aviator is the big blockbuster film with the most nominations. Million Dollar Baby has received a lot of praise for Clint Eastwood's work. And one that hasn't been mentioned much in this category, Ray has a lot of appeal with the recent emphasis on Ray Charles at the Grammys, etc. (BTW, his album, Genius Loves Company is amazing!) Plus, Jamie Foxx's performance has been the big talk and he is supposed to win big.
