Week #2 Wrap Up

Last week, I finished week #2 on the Called Out journey as we were at Camp Pinerock for Arizona District Senior High Camp. It was a great week and it finished off well. The theme for the week was "Transformed" and was loosely tied to the upcoming premiere of the Transformers movie.

Once we finished camp on Friday afternoon, we got some lunch at Wendy's and then headed to our bass player, Rachel's house in Prescott. As soon as we got to her house we all took naps. About 4 1/2 hours later, we all awoke to smell dinner cooking. We had steaks, spinach salad, baked potatoes, corn and rolls for dinner. It was fantastic. After we sat around the dinner table outside, we began the daunting task of laundry. We worked on it little by little and load by load until the last batch was done at 2:30 a.m. when I headed to bed.

Saturday morning was great because we all slept in and had another amazing meal. Steak and eggs, hashbrowns, homemade scones and yogurt was the breakfast menu. It felt great not to be rushed or on a tight time schedule. We showered, folded laundry, read for a bit and then headed out from the Pomeroy's at about 1:00 p.m. From there, we took the bus about 2 hours away to Desert Hills. We set up our equipment at the church and did a sound check and then headed to Pastor Jimmy and Pastor Kristan's for a barbecue dinner. We played a few games of Wii tennis and boxing and then went on our way to each of our host homes. I went with Justin (our drummer) to Scott and Amanda's house and had a good night's sleep on a nice king sized bed!

On Sunday morning we got up and had white chocolate mochas to order and cinnamon rolls before we headed to church. We played the morning service at Desert Hills Fellowship and then stuck around and tore down before had lunch and made our way back here to Camp Pinerock for the start of week #3 and AZ District Junior High Camp.

It's been a good start to the week. The heat is worse than last week, so there has been lots of time in the shade and lots of sunscreen being applied. We've had a great journey thus far and I'm looking forward to what the rest of the summer holds.
